Winter Garden Region
An agricultural region noted for producing fruits and vegetables year-round.
Major crops have been onions, spinach, beets, strawberries and some citrus.
of southwest Texas, is surrounded by seven counties. It shares its eastern border with
Atascosa County, and - continuing clockwise -
McMullen County, in the south it's
La Salle County, with
Dimmit County next, its western border with
Zavala County, then
Uvalde County in the corner, its northern border with
Medina County and downtown San Antonio is about 30 miles to the northeast in
Bexar County.
