LUEDECKE,  ARTHUR AUGUST

 

The Victoria Advocate Obit: Arthur A. Luedecke, Arthur August Luedecke, 81, of Victoria died Wednesday, Jan 11, 1995. Mr. Luedecke was born June 21, 1913, in Goliad to the late Alfred H. and Mary Mueller Luedecke. He worked with Junior Achievement in Victoria and was very active in most of the Victoria dance clubs. He retired in 1975 after 30 years with Central Power and Light Company. He was a member of Christ the Victor Lutheran Church and C. P. L. Retiree Club. Survivors: daughter, Dorathy Hardie of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; brother, Victor Luedecke of Amarillo; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Velma Post Luedecke, in May of 1992. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, Christ the Victor Lutheran Church, the Rev. Daniel Zellmer officiating. Burial: Memory Gardens Cemetery, Rosewood Funeral Chapels, Victoria, 573-4546. Memorial; Christ the Victor Lutheran Church Building Fund. LUEDECKE,  AUGUST JOE

 

From newspaper article: Goliad Advance-Guard, Goliad, Texas, Thursday Afternoon, June 26, 1941 Burial Services for August Luedecke Held Here Last Thursday. Burial services in charge of Rev. Rollo Rilling, pastor of the First Christian Church, Bay City, were held in this city at 5 o'clock last Thursday afternoon, from the residence of Mr. & Mrs. Alfred Luedecke, parents of the deceased, for August Joe Luedecke, 25, who drowned near Victoria the previous day. Mr. Luedecke, circulation representative of Victoria for the San Antonio Evening News and Express, while ? a group of his news boys at a swimming and outing party Wednesday afternoon, June 18, on the Colleto Creek near Victoria, met a tragic death by drowning while attempting to rescue Rex Ball, 11, who had stepped off into a deep hole in the stream. Bobby Stoltz, 8, almost lost his life while attempting to rescue either Mr. Luedecke or young Ball, but was subsequently rescued by other news boys in the party. The bodies of Mr. Luedecke and Rex Ball, recovered by Victoria citizens late the same eveing of the tragedy, were found a considerable distance below where they were first seen to do down, being carried away by a swift current in the stream. A number of choir members of the First Christian Church of Bay City assisted in rendering music during burial services for the deceased. Interment was made in the Holy Cross Cemetary in Goliad. Active pallbearers were: Messrs. Wilfred Luna, Charles Chestnutt, Fred Friday, Ashely Etie and Arthur Harris, Jr., all of Bay City, and Willis Henry of Goliad. The deceased was born in Goliad on Aug. 20, 1915, and was the second eldest son of Mr. & Mrs. Alfred Luedecke. On July 19, 1939, he was united in marriage to Miss Bonnie Beth Louder at the bride's home in Denton, Texas. Prior to and after his marriage, Mr. Luedecke was a circulation representative for the Houston Post at Bay City, holding that post for about five years. He and his wife had only recently moved to Victoria, where Mr. Luedecke represented the San Antonio Express and Evening News. He was a member of the First Christian Church. The deep sympathy of many friends in the community goes out to the bereft wife, parents and brothers. Survivors are: His widow, Mrs. Bonnie Beth Luedecke; parents, Mr. & Mrs. Alfred Luedecke, and two brothers, Arthur of Goliad, and Victor of the U. S. Navy.

 

LUEDECKE,  MRS. (VICTOR) IRIS V.

 

From newspaper obit: Iris V. Luedecke, Amarillo--Iris V. Luedecke, 71, of Amarillo, formerly of Victoria, died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 1992, in Amarillo. Services 2 p.m. Thursday at Gordon-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Home in Amarillo, the Rev. Bill Owens officiating. Gordon-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Home, (806) 372-3233, Amarillo.

 

LUEDECKE,  MARY MARTHA MUELLER

 

Advocate News Service Obit: Mrs. Luedecke, Goliad- Funeral services for Mrs. Mary M. Luedecke, 91, of Victoria, who died Sunday night in a local nursing home following a long illness, will be held at 2:30p.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Goliad with the Rev. Gregory Deane officiating. Burial bill be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Colonial Funeral Home Chapelk in Goliad. Mrs. Luedecke was Born, Jan. 24, 1888 in Goliad County, and was the daughter of the late August and Josephine Foerster Mueller. Survivors include two sons, Arthur of Victoria and Victor Luedecke of Amarillo, three sisters, Mrs. Rosie Albrecht, Mrs. Delia Stehle and Miss Josephine Mueller of Goliad; and two brothers, Willie H. Mueller of Goliad and Albert Mueller of Refugio.

From Victoria Advocate OBIT: Services for Velma Post Luedecke, 72, of Victoria, who died Saturday (9 May 1992), will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Christ the Victor Lutheran Church, the Rev. Daniel L. Zellmer officiating. Burial in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Victoria, Colonial Funeral Home, 578-3535. Mrs. Luedecke, a former Goliad resident, was born 0ct. 16, 1919, in Ander, to the late Bernard C. & Amalia Hoff Post. She had been employed as a sales clerk for C. R. Anthony Co. before her retirement. She was a member of Christ the Victor Lutheran Church. Survivors: husband, Arthur Luedecke; Daughter, Dorathy Hardie of Thousand Oaks, Calif; three sisters; one brother; three grandchildren; & one great-grandchild. Pallbearers: Wayne & Dwayne Jacobs, Gary Post, Kurt Miori, James Miori, Jr., Raymond Spann. Honorary pallbearers: James Gunnoe, Jr., Ed Zeplin, Robert Olin, Paul Chapline, Ralph Emmord, Rawley Koehl. Memorials: Christ the Victor Building Fund or Hospice of South Texas.

 

LUEDECKE,  VICTOR C.

 

From the newspaper obt: VICTOR C. LUEDECKE, Amarillo--Victor C. "Vic" Luedecke, 75, of Amarillo and formerly of Goliad died Monday, Jan. 8, 1996. He was born in Goliad. He served with the U. S. Navy during World War II and served in the reserves for several years. Mr. Luedecke was a letter carrier for the U> S> Postal Service, retiring in 1973. He was a Catholic. Survivors: daughters, Vicki Shepard of Amarillo and Diana Tilley of Tulsa, Okla.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: wife, Iris V. Luedecke in 1944(date in paper is wrong). Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Bell Avenue Chapel of Schooler-Gordon-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Home, the Rev. Francis Crowe officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Amarillo, Schooler-Gordon-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Home, Amarillo, (806) 358-0441. Memorials: V. A.
