Ms. McNemar my great grandmother - K.S.) 3 June 1913 *John Johnson, colored, was shot and killed by County Attorney N.P. Reid in the courthouse, a result of an accident. Reid borrowed a 38 automatic pistol and intended to hit Johnson on the head. It accidently went off and killed him, the bullet struck one of the walls and then embedded in Mr. W.E. Beall's wrist. (What a mess! K.S.) 10 July 1913 *J.R. Sullivan and Luben Christian fought on the sidewalk in front of J.D. Jones' store. Christian was cut on the finger and knife blade was buried in his skull. He is now on operating table and don't know how serious his wound is.
