Wood is set in a glass case set into the solid wall of the powerhouse of Electric Light Plant that forms a portion of the abutment of the re-inforced dam across the River. On this is secured the copper plate bearing the engraving stating the historical facts. This spot also marks the crossing used by trail drivers driving cattle to the northern market, coming out of the river on a level spot under where the marker is placed.
