Catherine Blassingame Allen

Catherine Blassingame Allen, 40 beloved mother, daughter, and sister passed from this life into God's loving care on Friday, November 19, 2010.
Catherine was born February 26, 1970, in Lubbock, Texas to Larry and Jeanna Blassingame. She Married James G. Allen on August 14, 1993. Catherine graduated from Angelo State University in 1997 with a B. S, in Special Learning and Development . Most recently, Catherine taught school at Blackwell CISD. She was a talented, devoted teacher who touched the lives of her students and was widely respected by her colleagues. She was named Teacher of the Year in 2004 by the Blackwell PTO in recognition of her outstanding performance and received the Grand Lodge of Texas, A.F.V.A.M. Mirabeau B. Lamar Award of Excellence in 2006 from Hylton Lodge No. 884 for excellence in teaching
Catherine was preceded in death by grandparents J.W. and Lodena Blassingame and H. L. and Ina Scott.
She is survived by her loving husband , James G. Allen and the joys of her life , her son Benjamin James, 13 and daughter, Sarah Kate, 9 Also left to cherish her memory are her Barents, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Blassingame; Brother, Jason; nephews Brett and J. W. Blassingame; niece Gabby Rico; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Allen; two sisters-in-law Courtney Wardlaw and husband Jon and Brooke Davis; nieces Mackenzie Davis and Kendall Davis; nephews, Jacob Wardlaw, and Jackson Davis; her beloved aunts, uncles and cousins and her Blackwell ISD family.
The family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Colorado or FCCLA at Blackwell CISD.
Catherine was devoted to her family and leaves a legacy of lover to her husband, children, and all who knew her.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 20 from 5 to 7 p. m. Funeral will be held Sunday, November 21 at 3 p. m. at First Baptist Church in Colorado City. Burial will follow in Lone Wolf Cemetery.
