Colorado City – Mrs. Cora M. Alvarez, age 89, of Colorado City, died
Wednesday in Odessa.
Services will be at 1 PM Saturday, November 17, 2012, in St. Ann's
Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Mitchell County Cemetery
under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Alvarez was born February 26, 1923 in Nogales, AZ to Frank and
Clara Morales and had been a long time resident of Colorado City. She
married Geronimo Alvarez in 1950 in Phoenix, AZ. He preceded her in
death on May 13, 1990. She was a homemaker and a Catholic.
She is survived by 5 daughters: Alice Valenzuela of Odessa, Teresa
Martinez of Sweetwater, Elva Delagarza of Arlington, Stella Gonzalez of
Abilene, Diana Flores of Floydada; 2 sons: Miguel Jimenez of Midland,
Gabriel Alvarez of Ft. Worth; a special granddaughter, Erica Gibson of
Denton; 35 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren and 1 great-great
grandchild.
She is also preceded in death by her parents and a son, David Alvarez on
May 20, 1995.
Rosary will be held a 7 PM Friday at the funeral home.
