COLORADO CITY ~~ William Thomas Ayers, 78, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Carl Golden in Colorado City Thursday at 4 a.m. following an extended illness.

A retired railroad employee and member of the Austin Street Baptist Church he had lived here since 1926.

Funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Kiker and Son Chapel with the Reverend Thomas C. Moore, pastor of the Austin Street Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Colorado City Cemetery.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. T.R. Klas, Mrs. R.B. Golden and Mrs. Carl Golden all of Colorado City, Mrs. Lloyd Newman and Mrs. L.E. South both of Abilene; a son, C.D. Ayers of Galveston; four brothers, George of Abilene, Grady of Glencoe, Texas, Owen of Sanford, Arizona and Earnest of Arizona; one sister, Mrs. Lula Seaman of Bolivar, Pennsylvania; 18 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
