Thomas Reynold Faulkenberry was born in Loraine, Texas, Mitchell County, on
May 5, 1930 to Thomas Franklin Faulkenberry and Lillie Mae Richburg
Faulkenberry. He served in the United States Army 1st Cavalry 5th Regiment
and the 11th Airborne. He was also an endowed member of several Masonic
Lodges and Order of the Eastern Star. He married Oma Jean Mitchell on July
8, 1949. He worked for Humble Oil Company and Firestone Test Center in Fort
Stockton, Texas. After retirement in the late 80's, they moved to Fort Clark
Springs, Texas. After his wife's death in 1996, he moved to Midland, Texas
in 2001 where he was a very active resident until his death. He is survived
by brother, Morris Faulkenberry of Olympia, Washington, daughter, Joyce Ray
and husband Jimmy of Midland, sons Thomas Faulkenberry of Anchorage, Alaska,
Richard Faulkenberry and wife Teresa of Midland, and Ronald Faulkenberry and
wife Sherrye of Burnet, 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, numerous
nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3
sisters, his wife, and a great grandson. Viewing will be on Sunday, November
21, 2010, from 1-9 p.m. with family visitation from 6-8 p.m. at
Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home in Midland, Texas. Church service will
be at Crestview Baptist Church in Midland at 10 a.m. Monday, November 22,
2010. Masonic burial will be at the Loraine Cemetery in Loraine, Texas at
2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a non-profit
organization that helps families with wounded or deployed service members at
Operation Homefront Texas, 10157 IH 35 N., Suite A, San Antonio, TX 78233 or
to an educational fund for children and grandchildren of past Texas
educational secretary members-TESA, Founders Scholarship, Box 1565, Austin,
TX 78767, or to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn St.,
Dallas, TX 75219. Services are entrusted to Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral
