Mrs. Gay
Powell, 66, of Colorado City, died Monday in an Abilene hospital. Services
will be 2 p.m. Friday in the First United Methodist Church in Colorado City
with Dennis Bosely and Steve Birdwell officiating. Burial will follow in the
Colorado City Cemetery, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Powell was born January 20, 1936, in Fort Worth to Jeff and Melba
Bradley Belcher. She married George Powell on November 24, 1969 in Fort
Worth. She was a homemaker and a member of the All Saint's Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her husband, George Powell of Colorado City; a daughter,
Trish Uselton of Kingswood; three sons, Thomas R. Sheppard of Fort Worth,
Matt Sheppard of Richardson and Kirk Evans of Colorado City; two brothers,
Tommy Belcher of Fort Worth and Robby Belcher of Winters; three
grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 5
until 7 p.m.
The family requests memorials to M.D. Cancer Center in Houston.
