SNYDER DAILY NEWS http://www.snyderdailynews.com/Stories/index.htm Jack Cross 1920-2000 AMARILLO -- Julius Selwin �Jack� Cross, the brother of two Snyder residents, died Sunday, Sept. 3. Funeral service for Mr. Cross, 80, is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Trinity Baptist Church with Dr. David L. Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Born in Eastland, Mr. Cross served in the military during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He received the Purple Heart and retired from the Army in 1968. A member of the Trinity Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge, Mr. Cross moved to Amarillo from Hereford in 1975. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Michael Cross, in 1952; and by a daughter, LaJuanda Cross, in 1996. Survivors include his wife, Blanche Cross of Amarillo; three sisters, Rosa Starnes of Snyder, Norene Murphy of Garland and Bennie Curfew of Crane; four brothers, Vernon Cross of Snyder, Ronald Cross of Big Spring, Glen Cross and H.T. Cross, both of Midland.
