Funeral service for Mr. Gamble, 79, is set for 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel. Eddie Sharp, minister of the University Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Born Oct. 9, 1921 in Taylor County, he was a graduate of Abilene High School and Abilene Christian University. He married Mildred Clark in 1942. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Gamble operated Mason Gamble Motors for 40 years. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Gamble of Abilene; a son, Guy Gamble of Abilene and formerly of Snyder; two brothers, John Gamble of Wyoming and Bill Gamble of Tulsa; and two grandchildren.
