Leslie Gill 

1932-2000 

Leslie (Sonny) Gill of Snyder died Friday, Sept. 8, in Valley Fair Lodge in Colorado City following a lengthy illness. 

Service for Mr. Gill, 68, is set for 10 a.m. Monday in the Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Clifton Griffith, pastor of Union Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Snyder Cemetery. 

Born July 21, 1932 in Bell County, he married Mavis Leonard on Dec. 17, 1963 in Colorado City. She died Aug. 6, 1987. Mr. Gill and his family moved to the Snyder area in 1941. He had also lived in the Fluvanna area. Mr. Gill was a truck driver and was employed at Grimmett Bros. for a number of years. 

His parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.O. Gill, and a brother, James Gill, also preceded him in death. 

Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Dorothy Gill of Snyder; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Cherry and Clint Hembree, Louise and Harvey Stevenson and Bessie McCauley, all of Snyder; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. 

The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
