SNYDER DAILY NEWS http://www.snyderdailynews.com/Stories/index.htm Maxine Millsap 1921-2000 After a long and courageous battle with cancer, our mother and Mamaw � Maxine McAnelly Millsap � is resting in Peace. She passed away at Song Bird Lodge in Brownwood early Saturday morning, October 7, 2000. She was born August 31, 1921 in Casey County, Kentucky to Herman and Thelma Herren McAnelly. She married I.L. Melton on February 6, 1943 in Mineral Wells, Texas. She later married Arthur Millsap on August 22, 1975 in Colorado City, Texas. He preceded her in death on December 26, 1993. She was a resident of Snyder from 1950-1975. Mrs. Millsap was an employee of Cogdell Memorial Hospital for 23 years; 15 years as an LVN and 8 years as a nurse�s aide. She retired in 1975, moving to Colorado City. She moved from Colorado City to Brownwood in March, 1999 to be near her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Bill DeShazer. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Bill DeShazer of Lake Brownwood; two sons, Rusty Melton of Snyder and Vernon Melton; one stepson, Perry Millsap and his wife, Roe, of Sebastopal, Calif. Grandchildren: Dana Starr and her husband, Paul, from Hobbs, N.M.; Max Cotton, Lubbock; Haley Cotton, Midland; Nicole Millsap, Sebastopal, Calif.; Jamie DeShazer Sewell of Cimarron, N.M. Great-grandchildren: Christopher Starr, Andrew Starr, Kyle Cotton, Kade Cotton, Kolton Cotton, Coy Sewell and Jaylee Sewell. One brother, Don Eugene McAnelly and his wife, Corrine, of Hamlin, Texas. Two nephews, Herman McAnelly of Odessa and Donald McAnelly of Elizabethtown, KY. Two nieces, Martha Dever of Andrews and Karen Kittles of Snyder. A special sister-in-law, Wanda McAnelly of Andrews. Services will be at the 22nd and Austin Ave. Church of Christ in Colorado City at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October, 10, 2000, with Mr. Kerry Cain, minister, and Mr. Mike Hayes, Lake Brownwood Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens in Snyder under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 6-7 p.m. Monday at Bell-Cypert-Seale. Friends are contributing to either the mission fund of Lake Brownwood Church of Christ, % Mike Hayes, 730 Spillway Road, Brownwood, Tx. 76801; or 22nd and Austin Ave. Church of Christ in Colorado City, 79512. Pallbearers will be Dalton Walton, Larry Bills, Lynn McLarty, John Greene, Pete Greene and Billy Grimmett. Paid Notice
