Ila Bee Mitchell 

1913-2000 

SEMINOLE � Ila Bee Mitchell, a native of Scurry County, died Tuesday, Aug. 1,
 in Seminole Memorial Hospital. 

Funeral service for Mrs. Mitchell, 87, is set for 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the
 First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Hawkins, former pastor, officiating. 

Graveside service is set for 3 p.m. Thursday in the Snyder Cemetery.
 Arrangements are under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home. 

Born Feb. 1, 1913 in Scurry County, she graduated from Snyder High School 
and attended Texas Tech University and later became a teacher. During World War II, 
she worked with the USO. 

She married J.D. Mitchell on June 3, 1935 in Lubbock. The Mitchells moved to Seminole
 in 1946. Mr. Mitchell died in 1972. 

She was a member of the Seminole First Baptist Church and was active in the missions
 program. She also was a member of the Seminole Garden Club and the Seminole Study Club. 

Mrs. Mitchell also was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Periman; and 
six sisters, Lena Pierce, Ogla Spain, Ester Bell, Pearl Nance, Grace King 
and Vera Holsinger. 

She is survived by four sisters-in-law, Arless Periman of Amarillo, 
Oleta Mitchell and Gladys Williams, both of Snyder, and Ethelynn Mitchell of Lamesa; 
and many nieces and nephews
