Maxell Porter 

1933-2000 

Maxell Porter, 66, died Friday, Aug. 4, in Snyder Oaks Care Center. 

Funeral service for Mr. Porter was set for 2 p.m. today in the McNett Funeral Home Chapel
 in Andrews. The Rev. Ivy Shelton, pastor of Second Baptist Church, was to officiate. 
Burial was to follow in the Andrews West Cemetery. 

Born Aug. 23, 1933 in Fayette, Ala., he married Biddie Guyton on Jan. 23, 1954 in Fayette.
 She died on Aug. 26, 1995. 

He moved to Andrews in 1956 and worked for Union Oil Company for 36 years. 
He moved to Odessa in 1996. He was a Baptist. 

Survivors include two daughters, Debra Smith of Lubbock and Darla Stevenson of Odessa;
 three sisters, Francis Norris, Opal Porter and Chestin Pollard, all of Winfield, Ala.; 
and five grandchildren.
