SNYDER DAILY NEWS http://www.snyderdailynews.com/Stories/index.htm Hortencia Puente 1940-2000 Hortencia �Candy� Puente, the sister of Angelia Alaniz of Hermleigh, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, in Lubbock�s University Medical Center. Rosary for Mrs. Puente, 60, is set for 7 p.m. today in the Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel. Mass for Mrs. Puente will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lubbock with the Rev. Tim Judd officiating. Burial will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery. Born April 18, 1940 in Karnes City, she married Onesimo Puente in 1970 in Lubbock. He died in 1995. She also was preceded in death by a son, Martin Trevino, in 1990. Survivors include two daughters, Angelica Trevino and Barbara �Gigi� Puente, both of Lubbock; four brothers, Agapito Gonzales of Wellington, Ralph Gonzales of Bakersfield, Calif., Domingo Gonzales of Brownwood and Alejandro Gonzales of Lubbock; two other sisters, Minnie Gonzales and Manuela Castillo, both of Lubbock; and five grandchildren.
