SNYDER DAILY NEWS http://www.snyderdailynews.com/Stories/index.htm Pat Ramsey 1927-2000 MONAHANS � Dayton Earl �Pat� Ramsey, a former Dowell employee in Snyder, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, in Ward County. Funeral service for Mr. Ramsey, 73, is set for 2 p.m. Saturday in the First Untied Methodist Church in Monahans. Born June 11, 1927 in Ben Hur, Tex., he was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He married Mary Beth Tubbs on May 31, 1947 in Coleman. A 1948 petroleum engineering graduate of Texas A&M University, Mr. Ramsey went to work for Dowell in Kermit as a service engineer. He moved through the ranks and served in Snyder, Midland, Hobbs and Tulsa. At age 29, he became manager of Dowell�s North American operations. In 1959, Mr. Ramsey went into the oilfield servicing business for himself. He also was a partner in MR Oil Company. Mr. Ramsey was a pilot, past-president of the Monahans Rotary Club and chairman of the board of the First State Bank in Monahans. He was former chairman of the Ward County Hospital board of managers and in 1981 was named Monahans citizen of the year. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary Beth Ramsey of Monahans; Dr. David Ramsey and Russell Ramsey; three daughters, Connie Hisel, Carol Hurst and Cynthia McGee; a brother, Dr. Harold Ramsey; and four sisters, Linda Payne, Dorothy Erwin, Mary Kemp and Carmen McKinney.
