Alva Sturdivant 

1918-2000 

Alva O. Sturdivant of Joshua, a former Snyder resident, died Monday, Oct. 2, in Fort Worth. 

Service for Mrs. Sturdivant, 82, are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Mountain Valley Chapel in Burleson 

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Hermleigh Cemetery under the direction of Wright Colonial Funeral Home. 

Born Sept. 22, 1918 in Jacksboro, she married William C. Sturdivant on June 21, 1938 in Snyder. He preceded her in death. 

Mrs. Sturdivant was a bookkeeper for Littlefield Delinting and a member of the First Baptist Church in Joshua. 

Family visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. today at the Mountain View Chapel, and Mrs. Sturdivant will lie in state at Wright Colonial Funeral Home Wednesday evening. 

Survivors include a son, Randy Sturdivant of Crowley; a grandson, Shane Sturdivant of Crowley; and a niece and her husband, Linda and Wayne Hughes of Snyder.
