Lorraine Westmoreland 

1924-2000 

AMARILLO - Lorraine Westmoreland, sister-in-law of Foy and Mary Westmoreland of Snyder, died Monday, Oct. 18, in Amarillo. 

Funeral service for Mrs. Westmoreland, 76, is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Central Church of Christ Chapel. Dick Marcear, minister, and Lyndon Latham, minister of the Anna Street Church of Christ, will officiate. 

Interment will follow in Llano Cemetery under the direction of Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors. 

Born in Tye, she married Darrell E. Westmoreland on May 21, 1944 in Abilene. He died in 1968. 

Mrs. Westmoreland had lived in Amarillo since 1963 and was office manager for Dr. Norman E. Wright. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ. 

She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Julia Shafer, in 1997; a sister, Annie Mae Van Dyke; and a brother, Hubert Lee King. 

Survivors also include a daughter, Joyce Loe of Canyon; a sister, Christine Thomasson of Kingsland; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. 

The family suggests memorials to the Christian Relief Fund, P.O. Box 19670 in Amarillo; or to the BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950 in Amarillo.
