Mrs. Sue Wade McDonald and Mrs. Norma Rutledge Grammer inventoried this cemetery for the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1963 as part of a county wide effort to record all local cemeteries. Below are the headstones  from their records that can no longer be found.

[This is very near Ollie Russell.]

Shelton (infant) b. & d. June 10, 1899 Infant son of W.R. & S.A.
Listed between Infant Shelton 1895 and Charles Shelton (below).
See NOTE below.

Shelton Charles Nov 13, 1891 - Feb 14, 1895 Son of W.R. & S.A.
Listed between Infant Shelton (above) and Robert A. Bayless.
See NOTE below.

NOTE: I believe that the last two Shelton children listed above were recorded in error. These two entries immediate follow a listing for "Inf. son of W.R. & S.A. Shelton, b&d Jan. 20, 1895." As I recorded the stones, I found headstones for two Harper children, Infant and Charlie, whos dates are remarkably similar to the dates on the Shelton Children. I am guessing that some ditto marks were misread while the DAR typed their final report from handwritten notes.

According to her death certificate, my great-grandmother, Adell Blanks Willis is buried at Watson Cemetery. She died in the 1920's. I had a headstone hunter look for her grave, but he couldn't find it. He said some stones were missing.

[This headstone was not found by the DAR in 1963, nor when I copied the cemetery in 2002. - RY]
