Marriage Records

1873-1876	The court house burned in 1876 and all marriage records were lost. We have over 70 marriage notices abstracted from area newspapers that predate the fire.

1876-1901	Tarrant County Marriage Books 1 through 12 - A volunteer is available to search marriage records published by Weldon Hudson (books 1-6) and the Fort Worth Genealogical Society (books 7-12). Includes records through November 1901

1901-1902	Tarrant County Marriage Book 13 - Nov 1901 thru Dec 1902

1902-1904	Tarrant County Marriage Book 14 - Dec 1902 thru Mar 1904

The Fort Worth Library has an index to Tarrant County marriages from 1876 through 1945.

Marriage Records from 1948 to Present have been made available on-line by the County Clerk of Tarrant County.

The USGenWeb Project, Tarrant County Archives has Marriage Records from 1966 to 2002.

You can download the annual state wide marriage indexes from 1966 through 2000 from The Texas Department of Health, Bureau of Vital Statistics.

The Fort Worth Library has the Texas State Marriage Index from 1966 through 1998.

For all other records, you must check with our courthouse. They have marriage applications and licenses from 1876 to present.
